Joshua Brooks

Position: Accounting and Grants Coordinator

Joshua Brooks joined the Southwestern Water Conservation District as Accounting and Grants Coordinator in July 2025. Prior to this role, he served as a Development Analyst for the City of College Station, Texas, where he provided financial analysis, risk assessment, and management for federal and state grant programs focused on affordable housing and emergency response. During his time with the City, Joshua also chaired the Grant Review Committee, served on the United Way of the Brazos Valley’s Grant Review Board, and received two commendations for professional performance.

Joshua holds a B.S. in Economics from Texas A&M University. A native of College Station and a member of an agricultural family, he spent much of his high school and college years backpacking through the San Juan and Uncompahgre National Forests of southwestern Colorado. Those formative experiences instilled in him a deep appreciation for public lands, watershed health, and the interconnected systems that support rural communities.

Outside the office, Joshua enjoys trail running, campy horror movies, painting, and exploring local breweries with his wife, Abigail, and their blind Doberman, Storm.
